Discovery church began as a small home Bible study led by Pastor Jeff Rogers. After meeting for seven months the church had its first official service on September 12, 2004. God had placed a dream in Jeff’s heart to plant a church in the New England area that was alive with the love of Christ.
The church found its home at Indian Brook Elementary School in Manomet and Jeff served as her pastor until June of 2008 when the Lord called him to a new place of service.
On July 1, 2008, the church relocated to downtown Plymouth to be more centrally positioned in the community. We had the unique opportunity to partner with Congregation Beth Jacob in sharing their space for our worship services. They use the building on the Sabbath day (Friday-Saturday) and we use it on Sunday, our day of Worship.
On November 2, 2008, we installed Lisa Morrison as our second pastor. Pastor Lisa has led the church to be externally focused in order to impact our community for Christ. We are a service oriented church. We love to give back to our community whether it is by partnering with the Salvation Army packing food and Christmas presents for needy families and working in the Soup Kitchen, offering free gift wrapping at the mall, packing Crisis Care Kits, providing free coffee and goodies at the Thanksgiving Parade, hosting an Easter Egg Hunt for the Town of Plymouth or starting a faith based ministry for Special Needs families. We seek to be on mission for Jesus to make Christ-like disciples in our area of the world.
